Going back to my engineering studies, when it is in action, I remember, that on EACH of the Many - and I do mean MANY - turbine blades inside one of those engines constantly sustain the Load equivalent to 7 London Double decker buses at insanely high temperatures. I've seen in a presentation that they ran one of these engines with a remoteley detonated explosive charge positioned to take out one of these blades. That is one truly insane spectacle to watch, it becomes so Imbalanced that it shakes itself like crazy, but it is still self contained.

I don't know how those baggage carts are structurally designed, but I don't think they weigh more than or are as well put together as those 7 buses. it could well be that trolley (+ baggage?) - if it had been smaller - could have been sucked right through the engine and no one would have noticed, (apart from some very angry passengers who arrived at LAX who have no luggage left :P )

However, if big plane develops a problem with just one of those 4 engines mid flight, they could leave it redundant, a 747 can easily run on 2 engines, or even one with some skillful wing management. Ok the engine being redundant is one thing, the engine falling off is some thing different altogether :O

LOL @ earwax. I have never been a big fan of Pioneer headphones. The last Pioneer headphones i purchased were the SE-NC70S and in about three months the right side died out and the battery life was crap. What I do like about pioneer is the sound q...

Well I have the 2006 80 GB classic & the 32GB iPod touch both sound qualities are great but I must agree about the classic being better. I've been getting alot positive feedback about Sennheiser so I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the info!
