Epic Fu for you?
So I'm pretty new to this whole blogging thing. I'm taking a journalism class this semester and we're learning all about "citizen journalism", which is pretty much a fancy word for blogging (there is a bit more to it if you want to get more in depth, but thats the gist of it). So anyways we start talking all about blogging and whos doing it and why and such and I always wanted to try and start one but I never really thought I had much to say. I mean, I could just rant and rave about what a horrible day I've had, or how school sucks, my ex is a dick, and blah blah blah no one gives a shit about the everyday happenings of a 19 year old chick from Reno. I really wish i had more insightful things to say, I mean I've been blessed with this wonderful thing called free speech and yet I really am not sure how to use it. sadly I'm not the only one.... and yet I'm still sitting here.... at 12 am.... wondering what to type.... wondering if anyone will read it.... .... ..... ....... hmm.... still nothing..... I am pretty amazed about this Epic Fu thing though. I've just discovered and I'm in awe. I've always known that the world wide web was very vast and basically the answers to anything and everything can be found using it and still, as I sat here for the past 2 hours watching the past like 5 months of Epic Fu episodes I'm am pretty overwhelmed and I'm gunna admit, pretty scarred lol I just wish I had more time and battery power to explore it all but alas, it is now 12:30 and I have class tomorrow morning so i must say farewell to my first blog. may it be the first of many and hopefully there will be more to be said chao! <3 Les

I'd really like to get into the whole blogging thing too. I think one of the biggest mistakes that a writer makes while writing is that they don't believe their work will actually be read. That's pretty bad because then their work comes out in a way that probably shouldn't be read. Now, that's no attack on your writing, you just mentioned how you wondered if anyone would be reading what you wrote and it sparked a memory in my mind of one of my biggest obstacles as a writer.
Anyhow, I'd really like to get into the whole citizen journalism/blogging world but I'm not sure that this is the best platform to do so. Don't get me wrong, I love Epic-Fu and Mix but aren't there websites that you can blog on and they're automatically distributed through many other websites? I'm not sure, can you teach me a thing or two? Well, I'll probably start my future blog children in ms word and spread my little blog seeds through the whole Internet community from there. Hopefully I'll plant many trees of Knowledge, Truth, and Wisdom. Either that or I'll keep someone entertained for five minutes while they read my rant. Speaking of rants, sorry for ranting here.

Just blog about the 1st, 2nd & 3rd things that come to your mind. You'll be surprised at how much you'll have to say & who'll be interested.

Comment by isabella on February 1, 2008 at 8:03pm - yeah, the enternet is so much more than just serching stuff on google, and looking at the "evil eye" youtube video. and yet, most people never experience all the new things you can learn about and do on the internet. here at Epic Fu, it's learnign and descusing.. you can talk to people you might never have talked to on the street. we are all connected by the 6- point ..something? your six handshakes away from anyone else on earth.

ok but in all seriousness this time: if people aren't 'keen' on something, why not just NOT do it? if you don't want strangers finding you on facebook, then keep your profile private. this is why these options are available yes?

I have been checking EpicFu every now and then. The last "video" item I see happened on 6/21/2009.
I feel like I am lost, missing something (like a new website), or pushed out of the loop.
