Still hunting for content so if you guys know any one looking to get anything digital out there send them my way. The artist agreement is almost done, not the easiest thing to write.

Very cool -- when you get some more stuff in the store let me know and we'll put the word out to get people visiting.

I am planning on having a flash mp3 player on the site which can be used to preview tracks. As far as streaming previews I can't see the point if you can just download the thing for free. For most users a 20 to 60 mb download depending on how long...

Binary Releases is live... well minus the content

So a few months of hard work, the total destruction of god knows how many css.style sheets and a heap of testing and the site is now live. By live I mean you can buy things from it. The only thing at this point you can buy though is a 320K mp3 of a Drum n Bass track I wrote last year, mastered and never released.

So anyway if your a content producer looking for a creative commons based store to release your work through send me an e-mail to a&r@binaryreleases.com

otherwise feel free to che… Continue

need some feedback for my new online record store / record label

I haven't really spread the word about this one yet but I am starting up my own online record label / record store / way to release music called Binary Releases. I'm setting it up to be uber flexible as far as release methods and costing goes but I would really like some feedback from mix members.

I'm building the site using Drupal 6 and Ubercart with paypal for all credit card transactions.

so current plan is as follows.

256K mp3's are free to anyone who wants them with a donate function ava… Continue

I needed this Album 4 years ago

Growing up I was a huge Nine Inch Nails fan. Broken, the Downward Spiral and the Fragile were on constant rotation and their lyrics influenced everything that I have ever written both on paper and musically. I suppose the mix of slightly gothic and depressed, one person against the world industrial metal suited me perfectly being in a school of mostly new money rich kids addicted to Britney style pop and what ever punk band was doing the rounds on triple J (the only real alternative radio statio… Continue

Record Labels, Online Communities and General Chaos

Ok so my home state is still largely on fire. To top it off I just sent 5 people down there on a tour to 75 odd schools for work and haven't heard from anyone since Friday so tomorrow could be fun.

Record Labels are fun!

So I have pretty much decided to go down that path that is the record label. I'm signed to a label called Elektrax Progressive which is based in Sydney Australia and minus the fact that I am pretty sure I haven't sold anything or at least sold that much I'm doing ok. of course… Continue

Project 2357 stuff

Ok so my lesson from the first attempt at Project 2357 was dont' ever try and fight an economic model you know won't work.

That being said I'm trying a new one that has more potential.

Scraped the show idea and just went with a basic blogging website aimed at getting a community blogging together and sharing ideas.

The chat and forums functions are still up so feel free to head over there and start posting away.

I will get more features up when I have spare time.
