Have you tried to dig in any jazz yet? I doesn't looks like you have been very active at this sight. But then again so haven't I either. But it would be nice to hear from you again. I saw you worked with psychology and that you're studing neuroscience, so I take it that you've read the book of Oliver Turnbull and MarkSolms, wich is about neuropsychology and dynamic psychology, and they are putting them together so it becomes some kind of "neuropsychoanalysis". It's a book that makes me more philosofical than any other psychology books I've read, eccept Jung maybe.
But I don't write to you just to boore you. I just wanted to see if you're still here on this sight anything!? And if you are, please write and tell me if you have tried any of those jazz suggestions I gave you, and if so, if you did find anything thrilling in them.
Did I by the way tell you that my sister lives just about 80-90 kilometer north of you? Pity only that I'm so poor right now that I can't afford to go and visit her now. I'm so broke even that I had to quit my studies. At least untill I've found a way to make a little more money, but if I get that I'm thinking about trying to combine Psychology with history at the university...
But now I'm just rambling so I'll quit this now.
Have a great summer now and I hope you will read this eventually and make sure to have a good time and a nice life!

Well... Give Miles Davies a shoot first! An album wich is highly regarded by most jazz freaks and geeks is "Kind of Blue". It is supposed to be one of the all time greatest jazz record, by many. I myself wouldn't be that sure, but I love it!
...or you could try listen to a more up to date record. A guy called Gil Evans that used to make records with Miles made a record with music of Jimi Hendrix. It is a Big Band version of some tunes of Hendrix that you'll here what tunes it is, but those versions doesn't compete with eachother in no way. I used to listen to Jimi in my adolescens, and I think this record is a nice way to relive him without getting bored.
But what can one say. It's like all kinds of musik. You got to dig in those heaps of records you can find, and see wich of them that suites you the best. I'll give you some of my favorites then, except for those I already told you about... Ok?
For example... Cannonball Adderley [with Bill Evans] - "Know What I Mean?"
Sonny Rollins - "The Bridge"
Miles Davies - "Porgy & Bess"
Thelonius Monk Quartet - Monk's dream
Billie Holiday - About anything you can find!
But then again these are some of my favorites, but as in all gengres there are plenty to explore!..
Hope you've got a thread to start with then anyway! And if you are a bit like me, you'll find the searching and exploring to be at least half of the joy!
Edgar Tedro (wishes you the very best...)
Love from Edgar!
