I haven't done any web development, so I don't know much about PHP. I guess so far my favorite has been Objective-C, primarily because it's what I'm used to. I think i'm going to start checking out RUBY.
I do loves the PHP. I've developed really complex enterprise-level stuff with PHP and it's really flexible and powerful. Only thing that annoys me is that doing PHP upgrades often breaks old code.
If I had the time I would definitely invest it in learning Ruby. I've checked through a bunch of documentation and the syntax looks really easy to learn.
If anyone is new to programming and checking this stuff out, be sure to start out with an object-oriented language. It's much better to go with OOP that procedural code at this point -- the whole industry is focused on objects now.
PHP & AJAX 4 life. I think PHPis perfekt for Webdesigners, because it's really dynamical, and with AJAX you get the Web 2.0 effects, the perfekt tools for a good homepgae. (The only thing I hate on PHP, I can't get a LOCAL preview of the files with my firefox, I don't know why...)
so i have been working with coldfusion now for about a week now...i developed a couple of simple web applications at work. i really like it and i cant wait to get into some more advanced applications. does anyone else deal with coldfusion? also i dont know if this is true but from what i have read coldfusion is simple compared to php. anyone think i will be at a disadvantage learning coldfusion before mastering php?
I doubt it'll be a disadvantage. The concepts are always more important than the syntax, and programming concepts are generally similar across the board, especially for non-compiled languages.
I worked with Cold Fusion years ago, but back then it was very slow and clunky. From what I've heard, they've made it into a really nice language that works well with Flash apps, too.
PHP for me, too. Although the uebergeeks at my work seem to like Python a lot. Probably if support for it was more widespread by hosting providers, we'd develop more in Python.
PHP and Actionscript for me. Flash is so powerful! But you do need the php interaction to get the complex stuff done. I've started to dable in CSS and AJAX over the past month. CSS is great but AJAX get's confusing. I supose it'd help if I knew JavaScript.
One thing with programming is once you've mastered a language, others seem to make more sense when learning .
good going with the build man, I dunno if you carved the stuff out beforehand, but this kinda reminds me of when Queen's Brian May built his "red Special"

Great vid there, a perfect example of a "car crash" movie :P
Heard a bit of chiptune-age in there... did you get the audio from .XM files by any chance?
What I was referring to, was that the way that this "could" move forward, was that people might be able to search for info about any random person through taking a photograph in the street, they don't even have to be famous.

actually, zadi is the main act. and nothing against zadi- because she's the greatest video host that ever was, in my opinion.
