How do you feel dreams are connected to our waking life?
Are dreams a necessity?
For what purpose do you think dreams have?

this movie had a profound impact on me, and became my favorite movie. I've studied it extensively, as well as pursuing some of the threads woven through the film.

my philosophy regarding the connection between dreams and reality stems heavily from the ideas linkletter puts forth.

I especially like the climax of the film, when wiley runs into richard linkletter playing pinball and he goes into the whole philip k dick spiel about how time doesn't exist and when we dream, we enter the land of the dead.

unfortunately, as I confessed in my response to the other discussion, I'm going through a period where I tend to be sleep-walking through my waking life and wake walking through my dreams.

remind me to tell you about the time I experienced the extinction of the dinosaurs through a stop-motion claymation that zoomed out into an entire wall of photo frames each revealing another aspect of the entirety of man's history on this planet.... that's a good one.

This movie sounds good, I had never heard about it before but I'll definitely try to check it out and I'll tell you what I thought of it.

I think since they are created with "products" of our day experiences (words heard, images), thoughts untold, it's difficult for them to not be connected to our waking life.

I also think they are a necessity. Imagine all the dreams we have, and sometimes remember, some are easing, others ultra awful, weird, leaving us thinking about what it could mean.. If we didn't dream I believe that we would be in a super psycho-emotional mess...

Dreams are a way for our subconscious to have a playful time in its own "words". More seriously, I think that nice or bad dreams are like outlets for each individual even if after we have hard times trying to understand them.

Dreams connect us to another world. As long as you are dreaming it is real. Ever tried to wake up from a nightmare, from torture or being chased by beings, wondering if you would ever be able to return to the waking world again? Caught in loop, waking up just to be reminded by a blue creature, that you are still dreaming, even for the 5th time around.

The purpose, might be a reminder, of what is to come, when we fall a sleep, one last time. Unable to ever wake up.

Life is the dream, dead is when we wake up. Sleep is the small dead. The soul taken away.To return, or not. Which is unknown.

Flying over mountain tops, just realized where I was. And what is possible in this place. I find myself again, and slowly ascend towards the ceiling. The moon is odly shaped, like a pixelated bitmap image. I said to her: "You know what this means, dont you?" " Yes,...." she said " we have returned again."

I have been here before. In the night I had woken up and told myself to remember this dream. What had it revealed to me? I could not remember. This is what I saw. This very instant.
