okay. so i just moved to seattle, from L.A..
I love it here, but it's cold. im mean super cold!
I went from 80 degrees to 20 degrees (f.)
so, i know a lot of us are from all over the planet. I just wondering if you guys were as cold as I am right now. I'm rocking layers, beanie, scarf and the heater is on. i'm even trying to "think warm thoughts".
whats the weather like where you are?
(i think this might be the most "small talk" discussion ever posted btw)
I think we had a high of 5F today in dayton. The way i see it, the weather won't kill me durring the min or so i walk to and from my car, so i wear a T shirt or maybe a hoodie( and pants). I don't mind being uncomfortable if i get to skip the hassle of puting on/taking off a hat, gloves and jacket.
BUT there have been a few times where i locked myself out of my dorm room, and after about 5 min i suddenly realized the value of warm clothing.
It was 82F in Phoenix today. I am like Opus. I walk thru garage to car, and then out into the world. I do the same whether it 19F (when I lived in NJ) or 118F (here in the MIDDLE of the summer).
But, I am use to heat - I am from Houston. Just not this much and not this dry.
I often think about living in a place like Seatle or London where it is cold and dreary most of the year. I don't think I would like it -unless I had a TREMENDOUS amount of time to travel to other places.
Well here in the oh so beautimus Texarkana, Texas (or Arkansas if I was to carry my laptop a mile to the East), it's at present a gentle 68 degrees. However, in recent weeks its like the old Cherokee tale in which the northern brothers and southern brothers are duking it out for control of the climate; literally its 20 degrees one day and 70-something the next. It's crazy.
Im gonna represent the UK in this topic and agree its freaking cold. Weve had record levels of snow and ice showers here recently which, while the most fun Ive had this year, just gets annoying after youre done playing in it. It all just turned to slush producing slippery pavements, dangerous driving conditions, and above all else, cold mother trucking feet.
just got back from 2 weeks in the north sea around the maritime border between Scotland and Norway. Very windy, but livable. The waves were certainly swaying The rig around, not for the easily seasick, Just got back today to what I can only describe as "Terra Blanca" I've not seen a good amount of snow in the UK where I live for almost 3 years now.
I Totally turn into a Big kid when there's snow, I'm gonna crack out the sledge and start random snowball fights in the park!! Epic win :D :D
Anyways the scandinavians have the correct philosophy, there is no such thing as the wrong weather, just the wrong clothes, Hell With the right get up even someone like me can cycle in the snow without a problem... :P
Erno has a lot of friends, making it impossible to cover all of them on episode. Instead, we'll meet one particular friend who has even moved to Finland because of him!
