Just growing up with games I do feel like in so many ways games have lost there true focus. That being pure fun factor. Although trudging along through the 40 hours of game play to get to the next over done CG animation is still sweet.
I do have to say that It was such a relief to see systems to come out like Wii that focus on just the pure fun factor.
Then when I just lost all hope because although wii is fun they don't have the titles like xbox. Sure enough one of the most refreshing games I have played as a gamer came out.
Valve produced Left 4 Dead for xbox and it is so much fun. Just to have the chance to be a zombie and create chaos amongst 4 desperate players fighting for there life. I've never laughed so hard in my life. I think it is done very well.
I dunno does anyone else play? Anyone else have the same experience?
If so let me know and we can go kill unsuspecting victims and laugh our butts off. =)
You are absolutely right..........I've been a gamer since 1985 (born in 82) and have been a Nintendo & Sega faithful to this day more Nintendo now than anything........and occasionally I fantasize about playing Gears of War 1 & 2, Left 4 Dead, the upcoming Afro Samurai all on the Wii that would be awesome to play such epic games on Nintendo's little white box............BUT......you cant so I'll play them on Microsoft's big white box
I was lanning at my mates house and they were all playing this game....i agree it is alot of pure fun....almost no storyline just getting from one place to another and killing zombies!!
Right?! isn't that what games should be about? I agree with Twenty1 it has been a long time for me too. Yet the only console that seems to be more focus on how the game is played for fun is Nintendo. Yet, you see a couple other software companies doing it, only because they have the backing to do so. (that being Valve and a few others)
We want just a good old time. Sure there are games where the good story is a good thing too. They lose focus what they are trying to produce.
What other games or game developers have are keeping it real? I know so many sell out just like any industry but which games do you think keep the spirit of gaming alive?
I did watch it. Thanks that was a good funny review. I do agree it is so well done and I guess in the end it might get boring playing by yourself but really it was meant as a social game and having human pit human is just the beauty of it all. Which in the end makes it much more fun game than most.
I've always said this, I think that was games are about Human Vs Human. A Computer or some type of system is based on rules and thus they act in turn. Where a human can act completely (or seemingly) random which makes things more interesting.
For example, in any MMO (wow, Diablo, etc.) the bosses do the same thing every time. It becomes so calculated. How much fun would it be if you could drop in on a queue on World of Warcraft become one of the Main monsters for the instance a group of people are running and you could be the one causing havoc? Then we have something different an entirely different exchange each game. Which is the beauty of Left 4 Dead, which Yahtzee so adequately pointed out.
YEa Left 4 Dead is mad fun!! while there is a single player mode, this is a must-play-online title. Its better when there are 4 human controlled players. Takes strategy in a lot of cases but not that boring RTS type strategy. Its intense, fast-paced strategy. Especially on the Finale levels where you have to hold out for the rescue vehicle. It gets crazy........AND REMEMBER KIDS, WATCH OUT FOR THOSE SMOKERS! lol
This is the first fps i've ever purchased, and damn is it fun, i'm actually liking the single player modes, and just it's crazy. I love how the AI director thing always hits you sideways.
Will play the multiplayer soon, and given what i've seen with everyone playing, must be insanely awesome, but damn do i hate those witches.
oh, and to continue the gamertag thing
I have been playing Left 4 Dead on and off between WoW and Dune: Emperor. I have a gret tie with this game almost every single time I play. It's just balls to the walls zombies, bullets, and awesome-sauce. Yes, my favorite zombie type is a Boomer (as well as a tank, but for some reason they always give that to the worst player on the team).
It's odd, I've been playing the same map almost every time and because of the unpredictable nature of the spawns, it just never seems to get old. Plus I keep finding out stuff like did you know you can bypass the lift event in the sewer level by bashing open the door on the bottom of the building? Totally messes up the other team.
Some of the music are indeed chiptunes made by my friend. If I remember correctly, all of them are .IT files. I´ve been thinking about possibility put some of them at the website of Discasting, but at first I have to talk about it with the compose...

What I was referring to, was that the way that this "could" move forward, was that people might be able to search for info about any random person through taking a photograph in the street, they don't even have to be famous.
