Just curious about if/why some people here might be pro-choice or anti-abortion.

I'm pro-choice, it's a horrible choice to make, but still, i think it's a choice we don't have the right to take from women. The value of a fetus' life is minimal, sure, we can say "what if it became the man/woman that cured cancer?" But like i said in my 2012 post, the future hasn't happened yet, right now, it's a fetus, right now, it's done nothing of any value with the time life has given it. Cold, but true. I believe the value of a human life(this might look familiar to some of you) is based on how long the individual has lived, and what they have done with their lives. For example, ignoring baseless assumptions about the future, if we had to choose between killing a 2 week old fetus, and a healthy productive member of society...you get the idea.

Well, I'm definitely pro-choice, but with a caveat. I don't think that abortion should be used as a form of contraception on a regular basis in lieu of other less invasive (pardon the pun) types of contraception.

I'm going to feel a little bit like a loner here, but I'm pro-life, and I would seek to be the one of whom tubejay describes in his last paragraph. True, complex problems deserve thorough, well thought out answers, but that doesn't mean we should just leave it as so and let politics bicker things out til we become impartial to it.

I know, and that's why I said I shall strive to be the one who negates the ignorant ones.

First off Id like to say abortions are terrible, but I still believe in the right for the mother to make the choice. Sometimes I get the feeling people think that pro-choicers think abortions are perfectly fine which is wrong. Im pro-choice for a number of reasons.

For one, its impractical for abortions to become illegal. If abortions became illegal, what would you do with the guilty people? Sure you can prevent most doctors from doing it, but then all you get is backstreet abortions which no doubt would be horrible, unhygienic and dangerous for the mother.

I also feel its unfair and an injustice to put the fate of the woman, her body and the fetus in the hands of a group of people who decide to make the rules. It is her body, and she should be able to choose what she does.

And also, I really dont like the idea of a child being brought up in a house of neglect and unlove. They could even be born on the streets, homeless with nowhere to go and no chances in life. If the mother is even considering abortion she must have doubts as to how well she can raise the child, how well she can support and nurture the child. For those doubts to spawn into reality is just sad.

Without conception, no life is created, and it takes a man and a woman to create a child, but women do get extra points for giving birth. Also the man is equally responsible for preventing an unwanted pregnancy as the woman.

In the end, there would be no life without men, i think that gives our opinion more than a little weight...I say this being fully aware that a womans opinion is worth a hell of a lot more though =P

I remember the old school Candyland used cards to move around the board. If you could somehow buy the (edible) cards separately in say, the candy aisle, you now have solved your sanitation issue. It would however compound the problem of childhood o…
