Here's the deal. I'm in Afghanistan and my wife is leaving me which means I'm going to have a lot of extra money and a lot of freedom. I'm beginning to plan a trip to Europe for Spring 2009 where I will blog and take muchas video for a possible documentary. I want to see what the counterculture is all about in Europe and share it with the world. I want to know where some cool spots are off the beaten path and establish some relationships to help with this ambitious project. So what's up MIX-FU throw me a line!
You Should Include Thailand in your travel plans. It has some of the nicest people and some great resorts and the food is awesome! I of course am biased since I have been there twice and going for the 3rd time soon.
France :
- Paris : Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysées on New Year Day, ...., Montmartre area (my preferate place in Paris).
- Bordeaux : Classified in UNESCO world heritage since this summer. Magnific town. Most prestigious wine productions of the world. Near from Atlantic ocean.
- Bayonne : Bayonne festival, a unique experience ;).
- Marseille : warm people, in front of Mediterranean sea, near Italy, one of the most diversified city of France.
España :
- Pamplona
- Santander
- Madrid
- Barcelona
- Ibiza
- Granada
- Cordoba
- Sevilla

To add a destiny. Go to Ireland and watch the beer and bar culture there. You can do that in the UK, but in Ireland is special. Also go to San Sebastian in Spain....so you can see the culture of Euskadi and the great beaches. It is wonderful to see that even though they are in Spain they don't consider themselves spanish.
Well, if your trip is about counterculture I can recommend France during a strike.
Strike season in France is september to november. Some 'hot' years (like this one) there is still activity in december. For student strikes, wait till spring. And for GMO culture destruction, it's mostly summer.
For architecture: Bordeaux, Paris, Lyon
For fun: Toulouse, Rennes
For beer: Lille
For ski: Grenoble
To meet interesting peoples, Berlin or Amsterdam are probably the best spots in Europe.
Oh, and you must absolutly watch "l'auberge espagnole" and "les poupées russes"
I would love to travel to Europe I mean the possibilities are endless someday before I die I would love to have that opportunity, I hope you do go and have fun. I would love to see the documentary as well.
