I know a lot of people who have actually never met their best friend in person. The friendship is completely over the Internet! You hear a lot of controversy about Internet dating, but what about best friends? How close are you with you web friends?
I have met quite a few friends that i will probably never meet unless uncle sam sends me to that area but my online relations have been pretty cool. I even have known a couple people for a few years and we talk on the phone and stuff but still have yet to meet them
Not being much of a chat-person, I haven't made a lot of close friends online. I have met some people, that I would consider my friends on boards / forums I have written on, because I have talked to them a lot, so I feel I know them quite well.
I haven't put myself much out there yet, so there has not been any real intimacy shared with people. I therefore don't consider people I have met online as close friends as the ones, I have met in real life.
I do have a lot of long-distance friends, that I communicate with through instant messaging, websites like Facebook and the like, but that is out of necessity. Those friends, I have met them in real life first, so I don't consider them web friends. They are people, I have worked with, lived with, gone to school with and other. I have friends, who were exchange students and live quite far away, so I am not likely to be with them in real life often, even though I'd like to.

I've got some web friends. One or 2 of them have become good friends for chatting, i've met them on a forum some time ago. Besides that i don't have any friends on the web yet. I think it is possible to have really close firends, but it takes time. I prefer the old fashioned way. But i've discovered that it is possible to find extremly good friends on the net.
If you think a bit, those friends on the net are good friends in person to another person where they live.
yea i second that.....have had first hand experience when travelling and also have accomodated online friend when they come down under.......to New Zealand btw dont think anything dodgy lol

I know quite a lot of friends who I chat with exclusively on the internet. Like, for example, I set up a website several years ago with other like-minded individuals (who we somehow found each other via the web), and most of us are still running the website today. Some people have met each other since, but on the whole, we limit communication to instant messaging and email.
I tend to find that people find themselves compelled to be truthful and open with me. When I meet them in person I know them disturbingly well, often far more than I do people I met in person first.
Admittedly, I compulsively analyse the behaviour of everyone. All the time.
I enjoy online best friends better then friends I have at school and such. Only because theres such a wider group of people with the same intrests as you to pick from. I meet alot of my online friends when I join a site (such as Jetset :D or avidgamers). I meet them while where both doing something we enjoy.
ok but in all seriousness this time: if people aren't 'keen' on something, why not just NOT do it? if you don't want strangers finding you on facebook, then keep your profile private. this is why these options are available yes?
Just found something interesting Thanks to Engadget
I'm not too sure about where this is going to be honest, some people might not be that keen on online history to be bought up through a stealthily taken photograph =/ .
Jay and silent bob mig...
I have been checking EpicFu every now and then. The last "video" item I see happened on 6/21/2009.
I feel like I am lost, missing something (like a new website), or pushed out of the loop.
Please help.
