So I've received calls from two chicks who work at a telemarketing firm in Vancouver and who sound REALLY cool. Both were students and one was asian and the hotest broken engrish evr! The other one mentioned that she had gone to Warp Tour the previous night. I talk to these people because I know that their job blows and make it more into a game while they are trying to sell me something. I think this is fun even though if they called me in the middle of the day while I was working I probably tell them that I really would love to chat but I can't.

Anyways, what do you do when a telemarketer calls?

I think your supposed to be able to unless you call a certain number. I don't have a land line either but I got called at work believe it or not.

I've worked in telemarketing for 7 years, so I have fun being the difficult potential customer, and just before they give up and end the call, I coach them on how to handle difficult situations.

Kinda a weird way to have fun with telemarketers but some of the appreciate the feedback, others just hang up.

i used to work in the call center for my university's alumni fund. i think of it as one of the worst jobs i have ever had (stupid work-study program), but i remember that some of my co-workers really enjoyed (?!?!) it.

even though i know first-hand how crappy of a job they have, i can only take so much from telemarketers. i try to be as polite as possible, but i still hang up the phone as quickly as i can. ha.
