MIX

Well, if you want to react to the announcement, here's the place.

Personally, i didn't expect that at all. I mean, when Steve said major changes, that wasn't even in my radar. Then again, I've been out of the loop for a while. Economy isn't going well down there. Neither is it up here in Canada tho.. And to say that the worse isn't passed yet. sigh.

But with that said, I hope the best for everyone in the Epic-fu crew, and good luck to its former member! Love the show, keep it going, you have the fans behind you, watching and loving what you're doing ^^

Oh, crap, and i liked pixelperfect too.
Tho i'm pretty sure this was, or should have been known beforehand for the dropped show's producers, so with some hope EpicFu will continue on air, just not in r3's air.

Soooooooo sad!!!! But, the show will still be around and looking for a new home. :)

The show will definitely continue, guys. We just need a new partner to help us sell ads and get sponsors so we can make money doing it. It completely sucks that we had to lay off Rick, Sarah, and Daniel. Some info here on the Smashface blog about it, too:

http://blog.smashface.com/2008/10/epic_fu_and_revision3_parting.html

As things develop we'll let you know, but we're planning on doing our regular weekly show going forward!

This news shocked me. I know Epic-Fu will live long because it has always been done with great quality and content, the same content that keeps us watching every week. I'm sad to see Sarah, Rick and Daniel go. I hope that the situation will get better sooner than expected to maybe have them back on the crew. Zadi & Steve will for sure continue doing a great work and will get sponsors and ads because here you have your viewrs and community supporting you.

Epic Fu made me realize of the existance of Revision 3 and many quality content offered there. The economy will start to grow again, maybe in a year or less but remember every crisis is a moment of opportunity.

You guys are what keeps us going... seriously. I come here and see the kinds of conversations taking place and we're just inspired to keep on going. Thanks so much for making this show worth -- making. You're our fuel.

We're really sad about having a smaller team -- but they're still around and will be dropping by every now and then. We're really lucky to have worked with such GOOD people and really lucky that we still have them as our friends. <3

I think its crap what Rev3 did. But Im just glad EpicFu will live on. I think they got rid of the wrong shows. They could have condensed their lineup down easily but they decided to get rid of the better talents of the network.

I've been watching epic-fu since pre-revision3 (when it was called the JetSet show) and will continue to watch it post-revision3. I think it's Revision3's loss.

I don't think it would be a bad thing to go back and look at some of the old shows since it's been starting to feel a little too ... what's the word ... consistent? Consistent CAN be a good things but when you've seemed a little too formulated since becoming part of Revision3. It's just not been quite the same amount of unexpected fun it used to be. Don't get me wrong though, this is still one of the remaining shows I make a point of watching and keeping up with even though I'm un-subscribing from more and more podcasts lately.

I hope you all find a good way to monetize this puppy and keep it going. :)

I just found this out now and i'm completely freakin out. The funny thing is i completely thought who cares its Rev3's loss lol I knew since the first time i saw Jetset that this show is instantly production quality and i couldn't get enough of u guys. I am so sad to hear about the layoffs but i hope they come back when things get better again. And i learned about Rev3 from you guys when u guys got picked up by them, so i feel like they gained alot from you guys too u know. Anyway i luv epicfu and all its glory!! I can't wait to see more hehe (>'.')>

ps. oh yeah u guys really taught me alot about twitter lol

yes today's events was very hard to swallow and still trying to get a grip on what happened. A lot of people lost their jobs within Revision3, and a great partnership that I enjoyed that Rev3 and Epic-Fu shared is now no more (this really is shitty for me).

A lot of people are angry with the decision made and have their opinions about it. What we all have to understand that for whoever had to make these decisions, it was not easy to make. While New Media is exciting, there is going to be a trial and error as there hasn't been a standard business model set for companies such as Revision3 and Smashface to follow. Now that economy is in the shitter right now, sacrifices are going to be made.

I see alot of people being reactive about what has happened by saying "Revision3 Sucks" and so forth (Classic angry forum people) but it's not helping the situation at all. Rather than being reactive, be proactive about it. Instead of bashing shows that "Should" have been canceled and complain about the ones that should have stayed, support the shows you love (Such as Epic-fu) and spread the word for the show so that there aren't anymore losses in jobs. Because giving asshole comments lead to nowhere. Give back to the people that entertain you: Post them on your blog, tell them to your friends, Etc so that we can get more people watching. Online videos need your support now than ever. It sounds corny but on a business level, every view and play counts as that is what investors and sponsors need.

It's good to see that Epic-Fu isn't going to stop at all and the content will continue on delivering. We can't forget that while things can go down (as in "what a clusterfuck"), we can back up as the technology world always does.

i almost wanted to defend r3 and remind everyone that it might be something they needed to do stay afloat, and they might be as unhappy about it as we are. as they're bigger than smashface, it's easy to think they can do everything they want and so if they decide not to keep a show, it's just them deciding to be jerks.

i don't assume they are. the fact remains that in my opinion, epic fu has more potential than anything else i've spotted from them... and if they are just playing it safe, they really threw out their coolest partnership. so that doesn't mean r3 are bad people, but i still don't think it was a very good move, and i feel more sorry for them than for mix.

like if a friend of mine told me he got dumped but they're still friends, maybe she's a jerk and maybe not... but if i'm your friend i'm going to point out that some people simply have no taste. it doesn't have to insult them any more than dumping the show insults zadi. (for example, not at all...)

and yet the idea that they can just dump our favorite show and not annoy anyone is kind of surreal. "oh i'm sorry that i stomped on your toe, i really didn't see you." okay, so maybe it was unavoidable. it's ok if a few people are a little annoyed for the moment. we can still all be friends. give us time to adjust though, maybe find some new friends, and not feel kind of confused and annoyed about it. this is what it's like to care about people, sometimes you get annoyed for them. i don't see anyone getting out torches.

i'm sure if our mild and momentary bitterness goes too far, zadi or steve will defend them (again.) meanwhile if anyone wants to challenge what i said about revision3's new lineup, the best way to show me their excellent alternatives to zadi's show is to feature them where i'll notice them... on epic fu. i also hope that anyone that is a fan or employee of r3 feels welcome here... but they should probably give us a few days before they start telling us what to think about this.
