... Because it's not bad enough that I'm stationed at an Air Force base (I'm in the Army), now I have to watch their commercials on Epic-Fu? *sigh*
But seriously, I don't get it. Twitter, I mean. 140 characters to write a message? What could be worthwhile mentioning in 140 characters? To me this type of technology only serves to isolate users while only serving an illusion of connectivity.
I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread to bring up this discussion, but I had to put it out there.

Thank you very much for the Numa feature! =)

Whoah!! Twitter overkill!

going by the last featured song. I've probably been killed and I'm living as a ghost. I'm not on twitter (yet) :P

It's good to see that from this point forward your Fu's seem to be coming from outside your local west coast USA/california zone. I realize that's where you are based and it is convenient, but with a growing audience not only from the U.S, but also Abroad. I think it's time to branch away from your Geographical zone in terms of your Fu's/interviews.

Now I've become quite the fan of Rev3's/Martin Sargent's Internet Superstar and I Quite like the way that he speaks to his guests over stuff like Ichat and Skype and I was going to suggest that you take a leaf from Martin's book and involve this feature in your show with interviews for your golden fingers. In this case you've beaten me to it :P good work on Andy's featuring. here's to (Hopefully) more External Fu's delivered on a similar front.

And more strikes for the brits with Andy and the end twitter song, YAY :D :P

Yay Twitter! Or something like that.

I personally use TwitterFox, it's an add on for FireFox that sits in the corner and tracks incoming tweets and allows you to type responses or tweets pretty easily. I figure since I usually have a browser open anyways, why not track what's going on? http://www.naan.net/trac/wiki/TwitterFox

The reason I like Twitter is while the 140 character limit can be a pain sometimes, it does force a thought to be more efficient at being conveyed. Also, there are just times when I want to make an observation and don't want to go through the hassle of opening up blogging software.

And if anyone has been watching, I tend to do that quite a bit. That and various ranting done by several tweets in a row. In any case micro-blogging is something that I think is going to be even more popular in the future, not just because it's all small thoughts, but because it's easier to use and publish. We won't be seeing any huge essays done on Twitter, but more collaborative stuff, sure.

BTW, great episode as always!

I'd do the video mashup thing, but I just packed up the G5 and took it downstairs and besides that my video editing skills are rudimentary at best. Good luck to everyone who gives it a go though!

Also not sure I would be that keen on transmitting my house's actions online via Twitter account. I mean, that's like a thieves holy grail or something.

I wonder how many people use Twitter to stalk web celebrities...

*Goes off to follow more people*

On the house tweets - would be neat to see:
- Front door opened
- alarm going off
- Someone walking down hall
- bedroom door opened
- closet door opened
- computer #1 offline
- TV offline
ETC

As someone breaks in and robs the house.

This one goes into the ARCHIVES! WOW! Never seen so much info in one place. Well researched, guys.

About twitter. I feel my life is too boring for twitter - at least posting. But, it is a good place to GET info and follow people. If you do one of those twitter word search on my handle, you'd mostly see stuff I've said about epicfu and zadi.

I felt i had nothing to say on twitter for the first 2 or 3 weeks then i started posting a lot more. 140 characters is low enough to make you think what you want to say. So far i've found people to collaborate with and a Job. So i think twitter rocks and helps me keep up to date with the work and life of many people that i wouldn't know otherwise.

Wow.. great Episode guys! Tons of info so that I can be a twittering fool! Seriously though thanks for the tips a lot of sites I had not heard of! Also are you crowned by the Queen to be a master inventor or is it a degree?

twitter is 140 characters because so it can fit in a standard text message.

weird enough, the only reason I got a twitter account was because there is a profile that would tweet you when Wii's were available on amazon http://twitter.com/WiiMe. It actually worked as I got a Wii last year.

After that I kept using it as it became more useful with other things: Automatically updates my facebook status, Debate alerts, tweet my Qik.com account, and keeping contact with tech/blog/web people.

"You're no one if you're not on Twitter"... At first you were no one if you didn't have an email. Then a blog. Then a Myspace. Then a Facebook. Now a Twitter. What's next?

"You are no one if you are not connected 24/7" ....that will be the next one!

Good that we all are on Mix...that means we are somebody before all the no ones.

Obviously 24/7 is more of an expression than saying 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. It means being there most of the time! Of course it's important to get time to read a book, watch a movie, spend with the family, etc. But the ideas is that people would be connected from different perspectives ....like the guy that makes his house tweet!

So it doesn't mean you have to be there 24/7 but somehow people will be online on a daily basis and updating with a higher frequency.
