Lol, nice post. Where I'm from (Brooklyn) and especially everyone my age, it's embedded in the vast majority of conversations. I can't front, I used it a lot too but then I realized how trivial it made conversations with others sound. So I don't necessarily use it anymore.

oh my god, how sexually insecure do you have to be to feel the express need to put a clause after every sentence clarifying that what you have just said is not homo erotic in any way.

no homo = please don't feel the desire to fuck me up the ass just cause what I just said my have been taken to be homo erotic.

and people think us Australians are wierd, I think this thread deserves one of my favorite Australian sayings

lol, I haven't even heard of that, but that doesn't suprise me (being whiter than Wonder Bread and about as flavorful musically.) Although it may have just not gotten to the west coast yet.

Doesn't lil Wayne use that at the beginning of one of his songs on Carter 2. "No Homo" then the beat drops.... Trying to say this whole song sounds gay but don't take it that way haha

I agree with Dale, weak America, quite weak. But I mean, his new lollipop song is quite, strait.....right.....

Jay Smooth is one of the most brilliant hip-hop bloggers.

I am very familiar with this word but I don't think its used often over here in the west coast.
But Homophobia (I think this is a word) is not a big issue since I am in the bay area. However the issue in general is stupid because being gay shouldn't be such a concern.
People don't know what they joke about cause its foreign to them.

Yea, Jay Smooth is the man. I did a lot of research on him the other day. Im a broadcast major myself and I can hope to be as well spoken as he is. Its such a concern in Hip-Hop because everybody wants to be the baddest and the hardest. No one is as tough as they seem in the hip hop world and they should stop fronting like they are. Those who claim to not have any emotion are very sad people and also liers. They were born hence they have some type of parent/guardian figure that they show SOME emotion for. For hip-hop to be one of the greatest outlets of artistic expression, there are a lot of very insecure people involved, but that goes for any genre. We're all human.
