MIX - how should we design it?
Okay guys!
We're giving some thought as to how to re-skin MIX, and since this is your home too, we think it's important that you have a say. How should we re-skin this place? What would make it interesting, fun, different??

Something slightly less bandwidth intense. My Dell machine at work and my G4 12" powerbook chugs while loading up mix pages so if there is any way to make it lighter that would be awesome. Other than that and this might just be me, its pretty Grey like worse than Melbourne in winter Grey (only people who live in Australia are probably going to get that joke).

yeah, we're going to have it match the main epicfu.com site. everything should be lighter and much more readable. we can post a composite of a design for mix we've been working on in a day or two, and that should give us a good place to start getting feedback.

or something that reminds me of OSX Leopard like the brushed metal theme

I'll say something lighter and maybe keep the "dark" style. It goes well with the Show's set. It looks pretty cool to me, but maybe you can update the images or graphics it has.

I think it's fine just the way it is but if you're thinking about changing it then maybe a lighter theme on the site? I mean I like the dark colors but I'm not sure if others would find it appealing.
Brighter colors is a suggestion. =P

i actually like the way it is since i prefer dark color schemes since i tend to use my laptop alot in dark rooms and i dont want to be changing the brightness so often. I like those sites that have multiple color schemes that are user eligible. probably hard to do but not a bad idea.

How about different headers everyday featuring a different mash up logo and background. Epic-fu has always had those shot outs on the show, but I never really see the mash ups anywhere in the community.
And maybe have the latest activity feed as a overhead scroll or something, because it just seems to take up space and make the window really long. I didn't even know there was a blog feed tab under it until today when I scrolled all the way down.
Also, I really like the sleek, rounded tabs on the main page, so put those in. They look really web 2.0-ish.

Maybe some flourishes coming from the banner at the top that extend all the way to the bottom. And make the mix logo bigger. With "The epic- fu community" Right under it :D. At least that's what I think.

Yeah it's straining to go back and forth between light and dark websites. Like Steve mentioned the updated MIX design will probably closer resemble the main epicfu.com site to avoid that problem. We'll be posting photos of a mockup so you guys can continue giving us feedback. We want to make sure you feel comfortable with your re-skinned home!

What I was referring to, was that the way that this "could" move forward, was that people might be able to search for info about any random person through taking a photograph in the street, they don't even have to be famous.

actually, zadi is the main act. and nothing against zadi- because she's the greatest video host that ever was, in my opinion.
i mean she's better for tech and politics... she may still have a way to go to rank with johnny carson or even conan o'b...
when i buy a smartphone it will be because i am silly loaded with money and i see one in the store running linux.
