MIX

I tried searching the forum but couldn't find a section for newbies to introduce themselves, so I think a section/sticky thread should be established for this purpose as i always got flamed for bad "nettiquet" for posting willy nilly without doing this when I joined forums and communities before.

in case there already is one, then I apologise,

I'm Laurence, From Aberdeen In Scotland (Smiles and waves), introducing myself on EpicFU. I was aimlessly going through vids on youtube and stubled across Zadi Presenting an old Jetset show. And this has opened my eyes with what the net has to offer and how it inspires other people. as well as other people who have just done their own thing and have used the net to show other people. I have seen nearly all the ones hosted on "the tube" and can only discribe the shows as "shock and awe on a budget"

Keep up the good work Zadi & co. You've impressed me so I'll be sticking around for a while yet :D

And any other new members, introduce yourselves on this thread.

Hey Guys,
I'm Kwab and I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm a reluctant computer science student and extremely amateur designer.
I stumbled upon the show 2 days ago and just finished watching all the available episodes. I'm trying to figure out how you guys did the old jetset intro.

if you mean Zadi floating, she jumped in the air, and they (Steve Woolf?) took a bunch of photos from different angles at top of her jump.

Then they sprinkled some kinda of Apple Macintosh stuff on it, and made the video.

Heya, I'm Dale, I live in Canberra Australia. I just finished a BA in Security Analysis at the Australian National University. I majored in Security and Strategic Studies and Political Science. In my spare time I write music and DJ. I am signed to Elektrax Progressive in Sydney and DJ every two weeks or so at a club here in Canberra. Other than that I like to mess around with computers, ride bikes down hills at high speeds and sometimes I make video. Which reminds me I should really do some work on project 2357

I'm Dave from Glenwood springs, Colorado. (I'm in whats considered "the Valley" in the Aspen Colorado area). I'm a computer science major from Fort Lewis College. I've been around for a while maybe late Jetset era of the FU. Just from the beginning, this community, website and episodes have been absolutely brilliant.

I live on a ranch as a ranch hand raising cattle and I'm a teacher teaching computers and business. Just your average computer/technology enthusiast. I'm hoping I can eventually change the way we think about technology and computer science in the schools in my area, and start to inspire more students into the area.

Oh hai ther guise.

Harrison is my name. I've been a long time watcher of the FU, so just because I'm new doesn't meant I don't know what's going down, ya heard?

I'm Ossi from Finland. I've been watching EpicFU for some time already, even though I had some long breaks during the years. It was called as Jetset at the time when I found it. At the same time I was studying in Spain as an exchange student. At Bellas Artes de Pontevedra I had a lot of courses about shooting and editing of video, history of cinema etc. An idea for an own show came up during that time EpicFu was one of the shows that inspired me a lot. Not necessarily to do anything similar, rather keep learning by doing something all the time. However, now my show is going on and at the time of writing three episodes are out. You can follow it from YouTube, as well as shows own page, http://www.discasting.net.

When not doing anything related to the show, I'm drawing, painting, and some other graphic design related things. Of course I watch movies, even though not too much of Hollywood blockbusters. During the years taste has gone more toward arthouse/avant-garde and B-movies genre. The same applies for music. Does Mr.Bungle or Secret Chiefs 3 say something to anyone?

Jana - Orlando, FL. I found the FU on TiVo maybe a year ago - an addict ever since - tho I'm new to MIX. I'm finding it an awesome place to stay on the front edge of New Media.

I work in sales, marketing, and consulting in the Veterinary industry - and tho I'm not a DVM I'm always happy to share what I know about animal health - so feel free to send any Q's my way. :)

Well, I've been here a while, but I guess i can still introduce myself. I go by the fourth letter of the alphabet. Why? Because. I come straight up out of the midwest--Michigan, to be exact-- and carry the cynicsm the follows with being of that region. I love listening and making music and I am constantly working on something, but nobody cares. I don't care if you don't care either. As long as I know I did my best, I'll enjoy my best by myself (I'm secretly an attention hog, but I try not to let that show) . I love Epic Fu because it's one of the few unfiltered places to find what you care about. I hope it never changes (in the bad way, not the good "we-got-new-graphics-and-such" way). I hope all new members feel as welcome as I did when I joined.

I can be the friendliest net-friend you've ever had, too because I'm a good listener and analyst. If you want, you can add me as a friend or follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/MelroseMoorefox
or ignore me entirely. It doesn't really matter.

Jeez...it sounds like a dating profile, doesn't it?

Well I have the 2006 80 GB classic & the 32GB iPod touch both sound qualities are great but I must agree about the classic being better. I've been getting alot positive feedback about Sennheiser so I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the info!
