Answers in order:

I think most humans feel a fundamental need to believe in something in order to retain their sanity. Whether it's true or not is irrelevant. Religion has always been a basis for power, once you control their hearts their minds will follow. Religion attempts to give guidelines to help its followers live their lives, sadly these guidelines are often misinterpreted, not updated frequently enough or followed as if they are the be-all-end-all of everything.
Perhaps there Muhammad did speak to a god, perhaps Jesus was the son of a God. Perhaps not.
Relying on scripture that has been translated countless times through many languages to deliver truth to the letter is foolish, humans interpret, humans make mistakes, translation is not a perfect art, etc. etc..
Personally I do not believe in any one god, but I would like one to exist, a benevolent one. What I want is irrelevant to whether one exists. I think if one does exist, he should be angry at most major religions for being such disgustingly corrupt, close-minded, intolerant, hateful, prejudiced institutions. I especially don't like naive Christians who try and tell people that their imaginary friend loves them and their sins will be forgiven. Religions shouldn't be talking about "sin", especially as their views on what constitutes "bad" tends to be utterly stupid, outdated and hypocritical.

Define "exist".

I feel what you are saying. I think there is a higher power and we just give it a name. I think if there is a god. That this beeing is more then we can ever know that he is so far passed what we can even image of god. I mean think of how the greeks and romans thought of god and how wrong we see them as today. We think we are so smart now but yet I can't wait till are children look back on us and say damn they were wrong. No matter what religion you are it's an ideal based on a faith. Faith is always a good thing but i don't feel the same way on beliefs. beliefs often end up in blood shed and we often try turning faiths into beliefs and I think this is where we get most things wrong.

Yup i do believe there is a God but i think its a shame that people bikker amongst each other as to which is the true religion and the sort....you can practice any religion you want you but what ticks me off is when people start preaching their religion as the one and true one...and i agree with FlameKebab that no religion today is interpreted or followed in the way that it was meant to be....i guess the real message was lost somewhere in the translation....pity really

i dont believe in god.
though im not sure if its just because theres no 'proof' or i just dont have that pure blind faith needed to believe in god.
i wish i was able to have the strength to believe in myself as much as those truely believe in god.

i sometimes think theres a higher existance. not like aliens anything but like a giant essence of being.

After many years of similar discussions on this subject, I would like to say at this point that I came to differentiate Religion and Church. The reasons are obvious to me but ruffly speaking Church is an institution made of people.

Religion, been a religious person and so forth I see it as the general idea. I was inform of this. I'm totally influenced on the matter. But, and please correct me if I'm wrong, more or less most religions say the same at the end.

I really would like to cut this very short so ... I believe that god are the people not one on their own but all together. This in total makes God.

So it Exists

Because if it didn't it wouldn't exist. Things that don't work get eliminated.

There's a great deal that works badly and breaks down a lot that would work perfectly if it had been designed, human eyes spring to mind as one example.
